PASSPORTS, You now need 3 months left on your passport when you LEAVE France. If you have had extra months ADDED to your passport because you have renewed it earlier then the 3 months is from the end 10 year date NOT the Renewable date.
Your passport must meet 2 requirements. It must be:
- less than 10 years old on the day you enter (check the ‘date of issue’)
- valid for at least 3 months after the day you plan to leave (9 years and 9 months from the start date)
IMPORTANT INFORMATION SINCE BREXIT
UK nationals visiting France should note that rules for non-EU visitors include an obligation to hold travel insurance for death and repatriation.
Travel insurance has always been recommended by the UK government despite the fact that the Ehic covers “necessary” healthcare arising during a stay.
This is because Ehics do not cover some costly items, such as mountain rescue, repatriation in a medical emergency or death, or some private facilities.
Ehics, or the new Ghics, are being maintained for Britons, but non-EU visitors to the EU must have cover including “medical repatriation costs and expenses in the event of death”.
In theory, this could be checked on entry to France by short-term visitors
However, the British Ehic or Ghic would remain valid for “essential” care, as long as there is no intention to “move” to France.
Anyone who is bringing a PET please check with your Vet, the Pets Passport is no longer valid.
We are taking bookings for 2024

Lac de Laneuville gives us the chance to enjoy many of the things we all love. My partner is a French teacher so loves to get a chance to use French and we all enjoy the walks and nature spotting in the surrounding forest. My children particularly enjoy the days out to the sandy beach at lac du der. This family holiday also gives me some time to spend fishing, something I would not get a chance to do on any other family holiday.
